Our organization is comprised of community volunteers who share a love for the library and a deep commitment to its success. We are stay-at-home parents, artists, retirees, executives, teachers and more lending our talents to promote and raise funds for the amazing programs and services of the Ridgewood Public Library. OUR STORY
Friends Foundation of the Ridgewood Public Library was formed in 2025 when two long-standing organizations - Friends of the Ridgewood Public Library and the Ridgewood Public Library Foundation - came together to become one unified 501(c)3 nonprofit. The merged organization combines the strengths of both legacy organizations to best serve the needs of the library in a more efficient manner. Historically, the Friends emphasized enhancing services, programs, outreach, and short-term needs through community-driven fundraising while the Foundation focused on managing endowments and funding long-term projects such as library renovations. The new organization continues these efforts to supplement public funding.
